How many times have you tried the latest DIET? Are you tired of starving yourself only to go back to your previous weight? Maybe it?s time to consider a healthier choice. Maybe it?s time to detox your body.
So, what is the detoxification of the body? It is the cleansing of the intestinal tract including the colon. There are several ways you can detoxify the body. It may be the additional consumption of healthy liquids such as water, fruit juices and tea. Start making healthier choices like eliminating or at least limiting your consumption of less healthy foods. Did you know that most people carry over 10-15 pounds of waste in their system? Detoxifying and cleansing your intestines not only gets rid of unwanted weight, it also helps cleanse your organs. A healthy inside also makes for a healthy outside. An internal cleanse can clear the skin, brighten the eyes, make an overall healthier you! So, now is the time to make the decision to improve the health of your body, as well as your conscious mind.
Increasing fluid intake is one of the best ways to detoxify. What kind of fluid? Water! Did you know that water is the preferred option of drink, especially when fasting? Our bodies rely on fluids to keep them hydrated since a large part of our bodies consist of water and it is essential for life. Certain fruit juices may also be a useful cleansing system and some juices can provide vitamins and nutrients.
How much should you drink? And when? It really depends on each person. The practical choice is to drink more water on a daily basis. Start with a refreshing glass of water in the morning. This will help jump-start your body to flush and eliminate harmful toxins and waste more regularly.
Tea is also a way to detoxify and cleanse your body because tea is rich in antioxidants that are important to help eliminate the free radicals that may cause cancer in the body. There is a wide variety to choose from, and you can enjoy a hot cup or cold glass of tea any time of day. You can have a refreshing glass of tea with lunch or dinner, and with a snack. A nice hot cup of decaffeinated tea just before going to sleep can be a great form of relaxation and a way to detoxify your body as well.
Try to avoid eating foods that are high in fat and sugar or foods that are processed, which are usually full of unhealthy chemical additives and preservatives. Foods that are high in fiber and nutrients are healthier. Fresh fruits and vegetables are better than canned. It is better to eat foods as close to their natural state as possible. You will start to see the difference and it will do wonders for the body and skin.
Remember that part of a complete healthy physical and mental system is also the recharging of the soul. How, you ask? Implement activities that will help reduce stress of everyday life. It could be taking a couple of days on a weekend getaway. Or a simple trip to the spa for a massage, facial or pedicure. The goal is to get the mind to relax as well as the body. There is a saying that goes: what the mind of man conceives, and brings itself to believe, the body can achieve. It is the same as ?you are what you eat?. Not only should you evaluate what you eat, but it should also monitor what you say and think.
This is very important to remember: when you detox your body, it is NOT a DIET! It is usually a short-term process to cleanse yourself, usually a week to 10 days. It?s enough time to eliminate excess waste from your system, loose unwanted pounds and usually gives you a head start on implementing a program of healthier eating habits.
