MOVING UP: Gold prices rebounded as concerns re-emerged about Europe's debt problems and claims for unemployment increased in the U.S. The gain came after gold fell $134.60 an ounce over the previous two days.
HURRICANE WORRIES: Gasoline futures rose as investors worried about the potential impact of Hurricane Irene. Refineries in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia produce nearly 8 percent of the country's gasoline and diesel fuel.
