By Dan Krauth, WPTV.com

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. ? A woman aboard the Bahamas Celebration ship was reported missing early Wednesday morning after the ship returned from a two-night trip, according to a report on WPTV.com, the NBC News affiliate in Palm Beach, Fla.

The woman was reported missing after the ship docked, and there are confirmed documents showing the woman boarded the ship in the Bahamas, Celebration Cruise Line spokesman Glenn Ryerson said told WPTV.?

The woman's boyfriend shared a cabin with her on board.

The man claims he last saw his girlfriend at 1 a.m. in the gift shop before he headed to the inboard casino, said Charlie Kinnear, president of Celebration Cruise Line.?The ship was just off the coast of Grand Bahama Island at the time.?When he woke up she still hadn't returned.?

Investigators are not releasing the missing passenger's identity, but she's reportedly a Canadian resident in her 40s.

Cruise officials say she had been spotted numerous times on the ship and even used her key card on Tuesday night.

The ship docked at 7 a.m., but her boyfriend didn't report her missing at 8 a.m.

"It's very unfortunate, I mean if we had still been on scene we would have turned around immediately, or at least stopped, but we were already tied up at this point so it is unfortunate that the individual waited as long as he did," said Kinnear.

Riviera Beach police and the U.S. Coast Guard are investigating and searching the ship.

The ship was sailing from Grand Bahamas to the Port of Palm Beach.
