Technical & Business Management Assistant (Los Angeles ...

Hello,

As I have struggled to come up with a proper title definition for this job, I will start by telling you a bit about myself and companies first:

I am a technical CEO and online marketing professional with many projects going on simultaneously.
I manage multiple developers and over a dozen websites. The sites are in a variety of technologies, but the primary technology used is ASP.NET using C# and SQL Server.
I'm technically proficient, as well as experienced in the business and online marketing side of things. I am in my early 30's, and have been involved in technology since early elementary school, and have run my own businesses since my late teens.

This would be a great opportunity for someone who was interested in gaining not only technical knowledge and experience, but also front-and-center business experience as well.

I would say I'm looking for someone who I can, and is willing to be, mentored, and eventually become my right-hand-person. Importantly, I'm looking for someone who is eager to learn and responsible enough that I can entrust them to manage certain aspects of business, and is of the personality to make sure it gets done right, be it their own work or others.

Ideally you are very driven and passionate about technology and business, and are hungry to learn the various aspects of both in a high-paced and no-corporate-fluff structure.

I've posted this under the "gigs" section, because at first this will be a part-time and one-task-at-a-time gig. I'm looking for someone who can be a long-term partner, and you will have a direct-hand in your own ability to succeed.

Based on how we work together I am definitely planning on making this at minimum a full-time position. Beyond this for the right person I am willing to offer profit-sharing opportunities.

Some use-cases of how we might work together:
-I ask you to manage the current development team for a day to make sure they are on schedule and have everything they need to complete the tasks to hit the next milestone.
-I have you copy an existing web application to a new domain. You would be tasked with everything from registering the domain to configuring and deploying the copy of the application on a specific server. Depending on skill level I may also ask you to update certain content on that new install.
-Install a new wordpress blog on a specific server and configure based on some direction.
-Research different cloud hosting options for a certain project and deliver cost estimations based on existing bandwidth and storage usage, and make recommendations in a report.
-Assist in data analysis to discover patterns and business intelligence

To list some specific tasks aside from use-cases above:

-Communication with developers and project management assistance.
-Interfacing with hosts and other service providers.
-Technical maintenance, SQL Server backups and configuration of offsite solutions, DNS updates.
-Wordpress / Template / Application installation on new domain
-Technical research for development and scalability planning.
-Technical documentation and account management / organization
-Site updates

I'm very excited to find someone, and I know it's a great opportunity for someone to learn and profit. I hope to hear from you, and please feel free to be creative in describing why you think you're a good fit.

Thank you,
M.
