What does your company do?
New Age Learning provides Promethean interactive learning technology to K-12 schools, universities, museums, and corporate training centers nationwide. With products like interactive whiteboards, projectors, learner/audience response systems, document cameras and a host of business presentation tools, we are not just installing, but effectively training and maintaining systems for our clients. Everything we provide gets used to its fullest potential and we remain in close contact with customers to ensure that. ?We don?t just sell technology; we make it work for you.

Was there a specific turning point when you realized your business was moving to the next level?

We knew we were doing something right by the reaction we?ve gotten from the educators we contact. People are shocked at how close we get to out customers. ?We expect if they enjoy the process they will continue to us New Age Learning. Vendors in the education space are notoriously slow to respond, do little after the sale, and don?t make follow up a priority. ?We have a different way of looking at things. We are trying to help change education, not sell equipment.

We continue to be very busy. ?There?s no shortage of schools that have been burned (or ignored) by tech vendors. We are careful not to take on more than we can handle. ?This way, each customers gets the care they deserve.

What processes or procedures have you implemented that have helped grow your company?
Training ? It is important for us to know how our technology works and how to best maintain it.

What is most rewarding about running your business?
We are doing something critically important. ?Our efforts are improving student achievement and we can prove it. Better educated students will have a tremendous trickle down impact everything (including the economy, crime, jobs, and the environment). ?Its the most important thing we can do?and we are doing it!

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?
We started the company in the midst of education financing shortfall. Teaching jobs were being slashed, education budgets were dramatically reduced, and school funding was scarce.

We didn?t expect too much starting out this way, but were pleasantly surprised by how well we were received. ?Vendors treated schools like a big pot of money, not a place to change our future, like we do. ?We found that teachers today have far more things that distract kids than we had in the past. ?hey need ways to grab their attention. ?They need interactive tools that make them part of the lesson. ?Good educators recognize that.

If you were starting over today, what would you do differently?
Started while schools still had technology budgets.

What advice do you have for other business owners?
If it is something you believe in, don?t be afraid to try. You can do it. Passion is everything!
